Welcome to Running Fox Farm, where daylilies have become an important part of our lives.

Our adventures with daylilies began, when we acquired our beautiful
property here in Canterbury, NH in early summer of 2007. As I stood on our back deck overlooking the sloping pasture lands, I asked Dave if we shouldn't put this gorgeous earth to work. It was quickly agreed that we should.
Dave's father had had a long love for daylilies. He planted them in abundance, as he beautified the places in which he resided. We decided to plant about 75 cultivars in his memory.

Of course, it did not stop there. Lilacs, roses, and a vegetable garden soon followed. It kept us very busy. But my eyes kept wandering back over to the glorious daylily beds. I wanted MORE. I knew I had to make an educated decision, I must learn everything from the "ground" up. The following winter I studied, reading everything I could get my hands on. I learned about their cultivation and hybridization. When the next summer arrived, I was ready to delve into my first hybridizing efforts.

The rest is history, and we are well on our way, on our "adventure" as daylily "creators" .... I truly believe we can combine southern beauty with northern hardiness. Our breeding stock comes from all corners of the United States, as we seek out the best our fine country has to offer. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and beauty is inherent in the glorious daylily.

Hopefully, our different pages will lead you to a place of beauty, marveling in what nature will create via our influences. We greet each summer morning, in joyous wonderment at the new daylily faces we see! We would love to have you visit. Daylilies bloom here between the end of June and mid August. Please call to make sure your trip will be well timed for their peak bloom. We will offer select cultivars and seedlings for sale. We also welcome visiting garden clubs to view hybridizing " in the works".

Please visit the tabs on the left to access different daylily topics. Our directions will be located there as well. Feel free to email any questions you may have, and we will be happy to try to answer them for you.
